Jap prayog 2014 – Naam Simran Program Schedule in Southall UK

Respected Sadh Sangat Ji,

We are truly blessed by the grace of Sri Satguru Uday Singh Ji to have the second annual Jap Prayogs under his guruship.

The annual meditation of Naam in the form of Jap Prayog will be hosted at Namdhari Sikh Centre, Southall during September/October 2014. On Sunday 14th September the prayog will commence with the administration of amrit and recital of asa di var. Daily Naam Simran will be observed for 5 weeks. Bhog of the Jap Prayog will be on Sunday 19th October 2014.

We encourage & call upon entire sangat, and especially the youth, to prepare themselves together with their respected families to participate in the Naam Simran, seva and celebration of the 110th session of Jap Prayog.

The annual Jap-Prayog is Jap of Naam for 1 Hour daily between the dates below (or over 40 consecutive days). All Namdhari communities observe this tradition with utmost vigor which was initiated by Sri Satguru Pratap Singh Ji in 1906. Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh ji elevated the Jap Prayogs to a major landmark in the Namdhari calendar and spread the event all over the world. Satguru Uday Singh Ji is upholding the traditions infused by the previous Gurus.

These usually fall in the month of Asu i.e. about mid-September. The purpose is to meditate the name of GOD (ie jap of naam) in the longing of early Darshan (appearance) of Sri Satguru Ram Singh Ji as promised by Him. Hundreds of paath of Chandi-di-var, Sri Adi Granth Sahib and Sri Dasam Granth Sahib are done by the sangat world over. The bhog of these paaths take place at the end of the prayog.
Members of sadh sangat abstain from the usual material pleasures of life and devote their time to meditation, recitation of gurbani, kirtan and general seva. A few keep sodh too. (Such sodh is the practice of ablution and purification to lead a puritan way of life). Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji stressed the importance of the early morning Naam-simran in the sangat. During this auspicious month events are organized to encourage the sangat and especially the children to follow the tenants of Sikhism.

Daily Monday to Sunday 4.00am – 6.ooam
Weekdays Monday to Friday 7.30pm – 8.30pm
Weekend Saturdays & Sundays 6.00pm – 7.00pm
