The UK Sangat, in particular, was especially fortunate to have experienced his presence during those years.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"779\" data-end=\"990\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><em>Ustad Ji\u2019s soul-stirring kirtan left an everlasting impression, uplifting hearts and minds, and his legacy continues to resonate through the recordings that remain a cherished treasure for generations to come. Under the guidance of Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji and tutelage from maestros such as Sarod legend Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, he developed an eclectic and unparalleled repertoire of rare Gurbani and classical compositions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Unlike many of his contemporaries, Ustaad Harbhajan Singh dedicated himself to teaching, nurturing an entire generation of Gurbani kirtaniyas who today carry forward the tradition he so passionately upheld. Among his distinguished disciples are Hazoori Raagis Baljit Singh, Mohan Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Harbans Singh Ghulla, Balwant Singh, and countless others. His role as a mentor ensured that the Namdhari community and the wider Sikh musical world remained deeply connected to authentic Gurbani Sangeet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">A tireless ambassador of Sikh devotional music, he performed and taught across India and internationally, sharing his art in the UK, USA, Canada, Kenya, and Thailand. His artistry was recognized with India\u2019s prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2010 for his monumental contribution to Gurbani Sangeet. In 2014, he collaborated with Ustad Amjad Ali Khan on the acclaimed album \u201cGurbani: Songs of Divine Wisdom,\u201d further widening the reach of sacred Sikh music.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">For decades, Harbhajan Singh embodied the soul of Gurbani Kirtan \u2014 not only as a performer of profound depth but also as a tireless teacher who inspired thousands of students and devotees. These musical gatherings featured renowned Indian classical musicians and were open to audiences free of charge. A significant highlight of his career was his performance alongside the legendary tabla maestro, Ustad Zakir Hussain, at the Satguru Partap Singh Ji Sangeet Samellan in Aurangabad in 1980. The first two Asa De Vaars and one evening <em>dewaan<\/em> were hosted by Namdhari Sikh Sangat Southall. The <em>dhora<\/em> contingent then went on to Birmingham, Leicester and East London. Namdhari Sangat Southall held the first 3 events of the 5-day visit. This morning a large gathering of sadh sangat took place at SKLPC hall for the reverent darshan of Satguru Ji.<\/p>\n<p>Asa de Vaar was recited by hazuri raagis Balwant Singh and Harpreet Singh along with a contingent of the UK based raagi jatha. The shabad \u0a07\u0a15 \u0a05\u0a30\u0a26\u0a3e\u0a38\u0a3f \u0a2d\u0a3e\u0a1f \u0a15\u0a40\u0a30\u0a24\u0a3f \u0a15\u0a40 \u0a17\u0a41\u0a30 \u0a30\u0a3e\u0a2e\u0a26\u0a3e\u0a38 \u0a30\u0a3e\u0a16\u0a39\u0a41 \u0a38\u0a30\u0a23\u0a3e\u0a08 \u0965 (Eik Aradhaas Bhaatt Keerath Kee Gur Raamadhaas Raakhahu Saranaaee) was sung in praise of Sri Guru Ram Das ji (24 Aug marked the joti Jot diwas of fourth Guru). The evening session was made up of Naam Simran, kirtan and kavishri. Theteam of East London youngsters, Jassa Singh, Surinder Singh, Santa Singh and Gursev Singh presented apoetic composition narrating supreme sacrifice and martyrdom of Bhai Taru Singh Ji.<br \/>\nFollowing this hazoori raagis Balwant Singh and Harpreet Singh along with UK raagi jatha sang a Guru Ram Das Ji composition: \u0a24\u0a42\u0a70 \u0a15\u0a30\u0a24\u0a3e \u0a38\u0a1a\u0a3f\u0a06\u0a30\u0a41 \u0a2e\u0a48\u0a21\u0a3e \u0a38\u0a3e\u0a02\u0a08 \u0965 (Thoon Karathaa Sachiaar Maiddaa Saanee)<\/p>\n<p>Later Sri Satguru Uday Singh Ji officially endorsed the launch of a SET OF 4 DVDS. 3 were Namdhari Nitnem comprising 18 banis and the 4th was Adi Guru Granth Sahib introduction which includes techniques for recital of bani. This compilation has been put together by Sant Kirpal Singh Chana in collaboration with Master Dharsan Singh (Sri Bhaini Sahib). The set was formally presented to Satguru Ji, by his grandson Taran Singh.<\/p>\n<p>25 August 2017<br \/>\nThis mornings Asa de Vaar was the last event of the West London leg of the Dhora. Asa de Vaar was recited by the UK based raagi jatha.<\/p>\n<p>This evening, <strong>Jagjit Arts<\/strong> was officially launched in Sri Satguru Uday Singh Jis Hazoori at the concert, The Rainmaker, held at 8:00 pm at Kings Place, London. The concert had a stellar line up of world-renowned artists including Sri Satguru jis Hazoori Ragis, performing rare North Indian classical music compositions and culminating with an East-West ensemble led by Talvin Singh and Taufiq Qureshi. Jagjit Arts was founded to take Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji\u2019s vision forward, which was to maintain our rich musical heritage by presenting excellent events for all. (Friday, June 2 to Sunday, June 4, 2017). This visit to the UK included his first visit to Namdhari Sikh Sangat Southall (NSSS), since attaining Gurgaddi in 2012. NSSS hosted the first Asa de Var of the dhora on 2nd June. The rest of the events took place at Namdhari Gurdwara, East London. It has been 17 long years since the last visit to the Southall premises by Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji. The desire and passion for this long waited blessing was clearly reflected by attendance and mood of the gathered sangat. \u2013 as Guru Nanak says <i>&#8220;Were a hundred moons to rise and a thousand suns, the light so created will be but utter darkness without the Guru&#8221; .\u00a0<\/i>The Asa Di Var kirtan was recited in the early morning hours in a very melodious way and style. Ustad Harbhajan Singh and raagi Kirpal Singh took lead and it was sung collectively by UK based musicians. The Asa di Var was interlaced with soul searching Hymns (shabads).
